Acquisition and Redevelopment
Built in 1950, this multi-family Section 8 housing community provides a total of 222 affordable apartments through the renovation of the existing 204 units and the new construction of three residential buildings. Jonathan Rose Companies and Columbia Residential utilized 4 percent federal and Georgia State Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) to finance the property. Households were relocated temporarily off-site and on-site to vacant units for approximately 4 months while apartments were under construction in phases. Relocation project was completed in March 2019. Property was awarded the 2020 Charles L. Edson Tax Credit Excellence Award in HUD Preservation Category by the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition.
