Legacy at East Lake

Built in 1971, this high-rise housing community is made up of 150 apartments for senior and young disabled. Atlanta Housing and Columbia Residential utilized the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program to convert units from HUD public housing to Section 8 housing choice voucher. All households were offered permanent displacement relocation assistance in order to close the entire property for a 15-month construction period. All households were tracked throughout the entire rehab and 59% of the original resident population chose to return to the renovated project. Relocation project was completed in July 2025.
